Q. If I purchase eXtremePortal early in the delivery cycle and then decided I need the additional protocols and/or formats, will I need to purchase an update?

A. No. Once you purchase eXtremePortal you are purchasing the entire system. So if you purchase it early in the delivery cycle you will receive each successive release free of charge. The only exceptions are the RMI and Corba interfaces as they are additional cost/add on modules.

Q. If I use the objects supplied in my application and I change a circuit type or format type, will I have to rebuild my application?

A. No. You simply edit the database changing the circuit type or the format type. When your program runs, request to send or receive. The next time it will go to the new circuit type or format type. Your program will only have to change if you hardcode the Host Name parameter, and then add a new Host Name you want to access.  It is recommended that your Host Name be parameter driven so you won't need to rebuild your program at all.

Q. If the system detects a circuit failure, what will be my next steps?

A. Once a circuit failure has been detected, eXtremePortalAi will present a number of possible solutions to correct the problem including where the potential problem occurred. As the system continues to run, it becomes more and more accurate on this type of problem.

Q. What operating systems and environments are supported?

A. The initial release(s) will be geared toward the Microsoft operating systems, specifically Windows 2000/2003 Servers and Windows XP Professional. Future releases will also support both Red Hat and SuSe versions of Linux.

Note: Windows XP Professional is not recommended for the production environment.
